Sharepoint 2010 "The specified network name is no longer available"← Back
When receiving the "The specified network name is no longer available" error after installing Sharepoint 2010 SP1 and attempting to crawl a file share you need to add a registry key on the Sharepoint 2010 server to allow the Search service to crawl the share.
NB: You should already have configured your Search Service default crawl account to run as a domain user.
Run regedit and under "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa", create a new DWORD called "DisableLoopbackCheck" and set it to hexidecimal 0x01 then reboot the server.
Re-run your crawl and content will be indexed.
